Leigh Alderson

The award-winning dancer Leigh Alderson began his professional career in the corps de ballet of the Scottish Ballet. Since then alderson has danced in ireland with the Cork City Ballet and ballet ireland and further across the globe as a soloist with the New English Contemporary Ballet, the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada, the Royal Ballet Fehervari, Hungary and in swan lake with the company Matthew Bourne's New Adventures

Alderson's roles have included Les Noces, Sleeping Beauty, Minus One, Kaguyahime, Whim, The Little Prince, Swan Lake, Transfigured Night, Artifact, Death and the Maiden and A Place Between.

He has received numerous awards for his achievements as a dancer and soloist, including the Lynne Seymour Award in 2004, the Royal Ballet School Achievement Award Ulster in 2005/06 and the NJL Choreographic Award in 2005. He was a finalist in the Tatler People of the Year Award 2009/10 and the Young British Dancer of the Year competition From the 24.25 season, Leigh Alderson will be a member of the ballet ensemble at the Staatstheater Cottbus.
